001John H. (J.H.) Boettner, the son of Carl Chalmers and Lyda (McGuire) Boettner, was born November 6, 1922, in Rock Port, Missouri. J.H. graduated from Rock Port High School in 1940 and graduated from the Aeronautic Institute, Lincoln, Nebraska, with an Associates degree in Aeronautical Engineering.
On July 12, 1942, J.H. was united in marriage to Deana Moore, at the Wilshire Wedding Chapel, Los Angeles, California. They celebrated 70 years of marriage this past July. For a short time, J.H. was employed by Lockheed-Vega, in Burbank, California, before entering the United States Army Air Force, to serve his country during World War II. Following his honorable discharge in 1946, J.H. and Deana returned to the Rock Port area, where J.H. was employed as a buyer for the Wilson Company in Tarkio. In 1948, J.H. and Deana began farming the family farm, north of Rock Port, where they lived for the remainder of their life together.
J.H. was a former member of the High Creek Baptist Church and a current member of the Rock Port Baptist Church. He also was a lifetime member of the Ralph Greer American Legion Post #49, Rock Port. J.H. enjoyed golfing, working on crossword puzzles, reading and playing bridge with his friends. He loved spending time with his family and friends and was dedicated to his church where he was a deacon and served on numerous committees. In addition, he served on the Grange Hall Cemetery Association board for 25 years. J.H. passed away Monday, November 12, 2012, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 90.
Besides his parents, J.H. was preceded in death by sisters, Marjorie (Lee) Fowler and Dorothy (Carl) Muller. Survivors include his wife, Deana, of the home, Rock Port; sons, Jay (Marge) Boettner, Los Alamos, New Mexico, and Steven (Cynthia) Boettner, San Jose, California; grandchildren, Danita Boettner, Albuquerque, New Mexico, Scott (Amy) Boettner, Columbus, Indiana, Erin (Chris) Blume, Wichita, Kansas, Jason (Erin) Boettner, Campbell, California, Travis (Kimberly) Boettner and Kelli Wing, all of San Jose, California; great grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Corey and Aimee Blume, all of Wichita, Kansas, Luke and Addison Boettner, Columbus, Indiana, and Jackson Boettner, Campbell, California; brother-in-law, Oscar (Margaret) Moore, Rock Port; and numerous nieces and nephews.

002Linda J. Cooper, the daughter of Harry Eugene and Dorothy Marie (Groff) Gilmore, was born December 23, 1949, in Pawnee City, Nebraska. She attended school in Cody, Wyoming, and Anchorage, Alaska. Linda graduated from cosmetology school in Alaska.
In 1967, Linda was united in marriage to Dors Douglas Jones. To this union, two daughters were born; Tammy and Becky. They later divorced. While in Alaska, Linda was employed as a beautician and a waitress. In 1990, Linda moved to Cocolalla, Idaho, and was employed in convenience stores. In mid-2012, she moved to Rock Port, Missouri, to help take care of her mother Dorothy. She enjoyed spending time with her friends, dancing and listening to old-time country music. Linda passed away Friday, November 2, 2012, at her home in Rock Port at the age of 62.
Besides her father, Linda was preceded in death by brother, Charles Junior Gilmore and sister, Sandra Arlene Gilmore. Survivors include two daughters, Becky Lynn Jones and Tammy Kay Jones McCalmond and husband, Alex, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; mother, Dorothy Gilmore, Rock Port; siblings, Dorothy JoAnne Slater and husband, Bob, Cody, Wyoming, Garland Gilmore, Anchorage, Nancy Slater and Darlene Louise Barnhart and husband, Byron, all of Rock Port, and Janice Mae Gilmore, Bainbridge, Georgia; and numerous nieces and nephews.

003John Douglas “Doug” Summa, the son of John Lester and Virginia Lee (Wilmes) Summa, was born October 13, 1952, in Maryville, Missouri. He attended Maryville High School, graduating in 1970. He then attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville, and the University of Wyoming, School of Pharmacy, graduating in 1977.
On October 23, 1971, Doug was united in marriage to Carla Jean Ingels in Maryville, Missouri, at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church. They celebrated 41 years of marriage this year. Doug owned and operated Summa Pharmacy in Tarkio, Missouri, for 27 years. In 2007, he sold his business to Pamida, in Tarkio. Doug then managed the Pamida pharmacy, which is now the Shopko Hometown Store.
Doug was community minded and cared deeply for Tarkio. He was a member of the Tarkio Lions Club, Slo Rollers Car Club, Heartland Educational Institute, St. Paul’s Parish Council, Wing Nuts Experimental Aircraft Association, all of Tarkio, as well as numerous other organizations in the past. Doug passed away Saturday, October 27, 2012 at his home in Tarkio at the age of 60 years.
Besides his father, Doug was preceded in death by his grandparents, aunts and uncles. 004Gerri L. Nicks, the daughter of Wayne Virgil and Bonnie Jean (Heldt) Baumann, was born May 29, 1951, in Denison, Iowa. Due to numerous family moves, Gerri attended several schools in her youth. She graduated from Denison High School.
Gerri was united in marriage to Randy Stephens and they became the parents of two children, Jennifer and Jason. They were later divorced. In 1989, Gerri was united in marriage to James L. Nicks. They made their home in the Rock Port, Missouri area their entire married life.
For many years Gerri was a bookkeeper for local businesses, including motels, gas stations and convenience stores. Gerri also was a bartender at Trails End and J & M Lounge, both in Rock Port. Gerri currently was a bookkeeper for her daughter, Jennifer and her husband, Kaven Wood, at their convenience store, “The Wood’s Shed” in Rock Port. She enjoyed bowling and maintaining a large flower garden. Gerri passed away Friday, October 19, 2012, at Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 61.
Gerri was preceded in death by her parents. Survivors include husband, James, Watson, Missouri; daughter, Jennifer and husband, Kaven, Rock Port; son, Jason Stephens and significant other, Sarah, Atlanta, Georgia; four grandchildren, Hayden, Keaton and Ethan Wood and Breea Stephens; and brother, Tyson Baumann, Omaha, Nebraska; brother-in-law, Jerry Nicks and his wife Sylvia, Springfield, Missouri and sister-in-law, Judy Johnson and her husband Ken, Des Moines, Iowa.

005Leon R. Wilmes, the son of Arthur C. and Verna B. (Fischer) Wilmes, was born January 22, 1941, in Eagle Lake, Minnesota. He attended school in Eagle Lake. Leon served his country in the United States Army and the National Guard from 1963-1969.
In 1968, Leon was united in marriage to Barb Johnson and they became the parents of four children; Lyle, Lee, Bob and Bernie. They were later divorced. While in Minnesota, Leon helped his dad farm the family farm, was employed by the St. Peter Community Hospital in St. Peter, Minnesota, the Hubber Milling dog food plant and owned and operated a butcher shop named “Wilmes Meats”. After moving to Missouri, Leon was employed by Excel Meat Packing plant, Rock Port and by Laukemper Motors, Mound City, Missouri, until retiring in 2003. Leon passed away Thursday, October 18, 2012, at his home in Rock Port, Missouri, at the age of 71.
Leon enjoyed fishing, playing softball, playing cards and telling jokes with family and friends. He also enjoyed working on tractors and farming with his dad.
Besides his parents, Leon was preceded in death by sisters, Adelaide Wilmes, and Joanne (Harold) Tish. Survivors include sons, Lyle Wilmes, Le Center, Minnesota, Lee Wilmes, Stanberry, Missouri, Bob Wilmes, Rock Port, and daughter Bernie (Art) Southward, and grandson A.J. 006Marie Mildred Hopkins, the daughter of Joseph F. and Mary (Bouzek) Betz, was born January 11, 1922, in Prairie Du Chien, Wisconsin. She attended country school in Eastman, Wisconsin and Catholic school in Prairie du Chien.
In August 1943, Marie was united in marriage to Kenneth Russell Hopkins. They made their home in San Diego, California, while Kenneth served his country, in the United States Navy. In 1945, following Kenneth’s military service, they moved to Westboro, Missouri, where they were long-time residents. Marie was a homemaker and mother of their seven children: Caroline, Joyce, Janet, Patricia, Marlene, Kenneth and Mark.
They owned and operated a general store in Westboro. Kenneth passed away in 1970. Marie was also employed by Head Start for 22 years in Tarkio, Missouri. Marie was a member of the Merrill-Smith American Legion Auxiliary in Westboro, St. Paul’s Catholic Church in Tarkio, and the Altar Society. She has lived the past 8 years in Omaha, Nebraska with her daughter, Jan. Marie passed away Thursday, October 11, 2012, at the Josie Harper Hospice House, Omaha, at the age of 90.
Besides her parents and husband, Marie was preceded in death by two sisters, Naomi and Lorraine Betz; and brother, Donald Betz. Survivors include five daughters: Caroline Lewis, Omaha; Joyce Ford, Wesley Chapel, Florida; Janet Morfitt and Patricia Colson, both of Omaha; Marlene Barnes (Tony), Blair, Nebraska; two sons, Kenneth Hopkins (Linda), Independence, Missouri; and Mark Hopkins (Sharon), Villa Ridge, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; sister, Alice Day, Chicago, Illinois; and numerous nieces and nephews.

007Price V. Bywaters, the son of Frank and Lydia Amarilla (Trayer) Bywaters, was born September 28, 1930, in St. Joseph, Missouri. He attended numerous country schools and Tarkio public schools.
On November 20, 1954, Price was united in marriage to Jenila C. Slemp. They made their home in Tarkio, where Price was employed by the State Highway Department as a road grader operator. In 1960, they moved to Arvada, Colorado, where he was employed by Jefferson County Road and Bridge Department as a heavy equipment operator. Price retired in 1988 as the District Supervisor. Following his retirement, they returned to Tarkio, where they lived to the present time. Price passed away Saturday, October 6, 2012, at his home in Tarkio at the age of 82.
Price was a member of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199, Tarkio.
Besides his parents, Price was preceded in death by one brother, Jim Bywaters and sister, Alberta Gauntt. Survivors include; wife, Jenila, Tarkio; son, Clint D. Bywaters, Golden, Colorado; daughter, Susan Hiser and her husband Hugh, Douglas, Wyoming; three grandchildren, Fred, Clayton and John Hiser; eight great grandchildren, two brothers, David Bywaters, Apache Junction, Arizona and Lloyd Bywaters and his wife, Candy, Houston, Texas; and numerous nieces and nephews.

008Carl (Carlie) August Erdman, the son of Julius and Anna (Richter) Erdman, was born August 11, 1911, in Benkelman, Nebraska. On February 13, 1912, he was baptized at the Lutheran Church in Benkelman. In March of 1912, the family moved to a farm in Atchison County, near Langdon, Missouri. Carlie attended Benton Center country school near Langdon, as a young boy. He was confirmed May 23, 1926, at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church of Langdon. He served on the church council of Langdon for several years and attended church faithfully.
On June 20, 1936, Carlie was united in marriage to Arlene Thompson at the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port, by Rev. D.L. McConnell. The couple lived and farmed near Langdon until 1945, when they moved to a farm near Tarkio, Missouri, where he farmed for 28 years. In 1974, they returned to Rock Port, Missouri, and he retired from farming in 1976. Carlie was a member of the First Lutheran Church of Rock Port. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and tending to his flowers and garden. He also liked playing pitch everyday with his friends, who called him Carlie. Carlie passed away Friday, October 5, 2012, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 101.
Besides his parents, Carlie was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene; four sisters, Augusta Palm, Mary Poppa, Carrie Horton and Lena Schoonover; and three brothers, Jacob, Freddie and Julius Erdman. Survivors include two sisters-in-law, Gerri Thompson, Omaha, Nebraska and Lucille Thompson, Rock Port; and numerous nieces and nephews.

009Florence Katherine (Mather) Ivy, the daughter of Ebenezer Romans and Alta Mae (Janes) Mather, was born June 25, 1919, in Albion, Nebraska. In 1927 she and her family moved to Westboro, Missouri, where she attended and graduated from Westboro High School.
On July 3, 1941, Florence was united in marriage to Harry Hamilton Ivy. They enjoyed 45 years of marriage together. To this union, two daughters were born; Phyllis and Sue. Harry passed away in November of 1986.
Early in their marriage, they made their home in St. Joseph, Missouri, where Florence worked at the Douglas Candy Company. In the mid 1940’s they moved to Tarkio where Florence enjoyed being a stay at home mom raising her daughters. In 1959 she was employed by the Tarkio College as a cook and then the Tarkio Schools and Northview Manor Nursing Home. For four years following Harry’s death Florence moved to Rock Port to live closer to her daughter Phyllis and her family. In 1990 Florence was united in marriage to Dale Kendrick and they made their home in Galesburg, Illinois to live closer to her daughter Sue and granddaughter Catherine. Dale passed away in 1995. Florence then made her home with Sue who faithfully cared for her until her passing. She enjoyed being a homemaker and spoiling her grandchildren. Florence passed away peacefully at her home in Galesburg, Illinois, with her daughters by her side on Thursday, October 4, 2012, at the age of 93.
Besides her parents and husband, Harry, Florence was preceded in death by four sisters; Alesta Smith, Marion Langston, Esther Bogue and Wyona Perry and brother, Paul Mather. Survivors include two daughters, Phyllis Ottmann and husband, Keith, Rock Port, Missouri, and Sue Smith, Galesburg; four grandchildren, Stacy Bundridge and husband, Roger, Maryville, Missouri, Ryan Ottmann and wife, Rachel, Rock Port, Nancy Shipley and husband, Tim, Maryville, and Catherine Likes and husband, Tommy, Dunlap, Illinois; two great-grandchildren, Jansen and Skylar Bundridge; and many nieces and nephews.

010Myrtle F. Squier, the daughter of Glenn D. and Vinnie (Johnson) Scofield, was born January 28, 1926, on a family farm near Gravity, Iowa. She graduated from Gravity High School.
Myrtle was employed as a telephone operator in Clarinda, Iowa, where she met Andrew Jackson Squier (Jack). On December 12, 1946, Myrtle was united in marriage to Andrew Jackson (Jack) Squier. To this union, two children were born; Frederick and Virginia.
Following the family moving to Tarkio, Myrtle became a member of the Tarkio Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday school and Youth Club for many years. She also served on the church’s flower committee and helped with the nursery. Myrtle was employed as custodian for the church for 27 years until retirement. After Jack passed away in 1980, Myrtle became a fulltime professional domestic engineer for both homes and businesses and continued working until her late 70’s. Myrtle passed away Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care at the age of 86.
Myrtle was a typical country girl, raising a large garden and canning all of its produce. She was also an accomplished baker and seamstress, sewing many of Fred and Virginia’s clothes. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and working in her flower garden. She also enjoyed camping, quilting and regularly helped Fred paint his models.
Myrtle was an animal lover and never met one that she did not love or that did not love her back. In her final years, her two constant companions were her cats, Tippy and Puffer. If you ever visited with her, you would hear about how she walked them on leashes. Myrtle was a very strong willed and independent woman who lived on her own until just a few months ago, when due to poor health, she had to enter Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care facility. Myrtle was a constant in the lives of her son and his family, always there to help in any way possible and will leave a void that will be impossible to fill.
Besides her parents and husband, Myrtle was preceded in death by brothers, George Edward and Ellis Horton Scofield and sister, Rose Coryle Scofield. Survivors include son, Frederick Squier and wife, Sharley, Tarkio, and their son, Erik C. Squier, Maryville, Missouri; daughter, Virginia Nave and ex-husband, Rod and their two sons, Scott and David Nave.

011Ellen Simpson, the daughter of Arlo Cornelius and Mary L. (Weston) Hays, was born April 28, 1928, in Watson, Missouri. She attended the Mayflower Country School northwest of Rock Port, and graduated from Rock Port High School in 1948.
On December 19, 1949, Ellen was united in marriage to Harry Thompson and they became the parents of one son, James H. Harry passed away September 10, 1956. On March 18, 1966, Ellen was united in marriage to Floyd Simpson in Burlington Junction, Missouri. Floyd passed away in 2000.
As a young woman, Ellen was employed as a telephone switchboard operator in Maryville, Missouri. She then worked at Kerr’s Grocery Store and Wayne Jones Laundry in Fairfax, Missouri. For twenty years, Ellen was employed as a sales clerk at Thiesfield’s Clothing, also in Fairfax. Ellen faithfully cared for her mother and husband, Floyd, in their final years. Ellen passed away Sunday, September 23, 2012 at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, at the age of 84.
Ellen was a member of the United Methodist Church, Fairfax, the Fairfax Quilt Guild and the Community Hospital Auxiliary. She loved sewing quilts for the hospital to give away at many area events.
Besides her parents and husbands, Ellen was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Collyer and infant sister, Aliene Hays. Survivors include, son, James H. Thompson and his wife, Dana, Fairfax, stepdaughter, Shirley McAdams and her husband, Bob, Tarkio; four grandchildren, Jayme Thompson, Florissant, Missouri, Craig (Melissa) McAdams, Tarkio, Curtis (Megan) McAdams, Maryville, Missouri, Aaron (Chelsey) McAdams, Shenandoah, Iowa; six great grandchildren, Jade, Gage, Sloane, Sutton, Kaylee and Kolbe; and numerous nieces and nephews.

012Donald L. Stanford, the son of Commanche Brown and Lula Mae (Simms) Stanford, was born September 27, 1918 in Mena, Arkansas. Don attended school in Mena. On May 20, 1943 Don enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country in the South Pacific.
On July 23, 1952, Don was united in marriage to Dorothy Tuggle and they became the parents on 14 children, Benny, Bob, Bill, Blake, Carma, Peggy, Larry, Jerry, Marsha, Terry, Gary, Krista, Donald, Jr. and Eddie Joe. Don was employed by the Kansas City, Missouri School District as a custodian and later managed the heating and cooling systems. Don was also a carpenter and built homes and crafted beautiful woodwork. He also raised German Shepherd dogs for the Kansas City, Missouri Police Department.
Don was a member of the Local 2000 Teachers Union and the Nazarene Church both of Kansas City. Don passed away Saturday, September 15, 2012, at Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, at the age of 93.
Besides his parents, Don was preceded in death by his sons, Benny, Bob and Gary Stanford, and three brothers and four sisters. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy, Rock Port; children, Bill and Blake Stanford, Carma Eagans, Peggy Eagans, Larry and Jerry Stanford, Marsha Eagans, Terry Stanford, Krista Louderback, Donald Stanford, Jr. and Eddie Joe Stanford; 35 grandchildren, two of which he raised, Kevin and Bobby Joe Stanford; 44 great grandchildren, 12 great great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews .

013Jeffrey L. Gray, was born January 3, 1966, in Maryville, Missouri. Jeff passed away Friday, September 7, 2012, at his home in Rock Port at the age of 46. He attended West Nodaway High School, Burlington Junction, Missouri, graduating in 1984. He also attended Northwest Missouri State University, Maryville.
On September 22, 2000, Jeff was united in marriage to Holly Chambers at the Westboro United Methodist Church, Westboro, Missouri. To this union, two children were born, Wyatt James and Cheyenne Leigh. They were later divorced.
Jeff was self-employed in the construction business, serving the entire Atchison County area. For a few years, he was employed by Davis Concrete, Rock Port. Recently, Jeff was in a partnership with James Smith in construction.
Jeff was an excellent, loving father whose first concern was spending time with and taking care of his children. He was an extremely hard worker, a man of his word and a generous friend.
Jeff’s grandparents preceded him in death. Survivors include, son, Wyatt James Gray; daughter, Cheyenne Leigh Gray, both of Tarkio, Missouri; mother, Mary Beth Gray, Burlington Junction; sisters, Jodi Davison and husband, Dewayne, Rosendale, Missouri, and Jolyn Jackson and husband, Andy, Hopkins, Missouri; brother, Jarrett Gray and wife, Jennifer, Burlington Junction; uncle, Doyle Gray and wife, Sheila, Burlington Junction; numerous nieces and nephews and a host of friends.

014Helen Irene Beckley, the daughter of Eli and Agnes Belle (Meyers) Duren, was born February 5, 1946, in Watson, Missouri. She attended school in Watson.
Helen was united in marriage to Dannie Standley. To this union, four children were born; Rocky, Craig, Michelle and Shawn. They later divorced. Helen was united in marriage to James Beckley. James passed away in 2011. She was employed as a CNA at nursing homes in the Omaha, Nebraska area. Helen was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Auxiliary, Omaha. Helen passed away August 3, 2012, at Creighton University Medical Center, Omaha, at the age of 66.
Besides her parents and husband, James, Helen was preceded in death by siblings, Ruth Webster, George Winchel, Alice Spiegel, Betty Kirk, Mary Zier and Robert Duren. Survivors include children, Rocky Jennings, Rusk, Texas, Craig Jennings, Stockton, California, Michelle Fink and husband, Douglas, Omaha and Shawn Jennings and wife, Darlene, Omaha; eight grandchildren, Michael, Felicia, Jonathan, Alex, Abel, Nicolas, Brianna and Gretchen; two brothers, Steve Duren and wife, Geri, Rock Port, Missouri and John Winchel, Malvern, Iowa; and numerous nieces and nephews.

015Rodney Lee Bissell, the son of Richard Bissell and Viola (Kephart) Davis, was born November 26, 1960, in Blair, Nebraska. He attended school in Blair.
On May 23, 1985, Rodney was united in marriage to Connie “Cindy” Bradley, at the Baptist Church in Corning, Missouri. To this union, two children were born, Lana and Cody. They lived their entire married life in Corning, until moving to Fairfax, Missouri, in 2011. After high school, Rodney moved to South Missouri and was employed as a mechanic for marinas in the Kimberling City, Missouri, area. When he returned to Northwest Missouri, he was employed by Graybill Tire, Cooper Farms and the Squaw Creek Truck Plaza. Rodney passed away June 25, 2012, at Tarkio Rehabilitation and Health Care, Tarkio, Missouri, at the age of 51.
Rodney is preceded in death by his grandparents, Cecil and Sally Kephart and his stepfather, Claude Davis. Survivors include wife, Cindy, of the home, Fairfax; daughter, Lana Volker and husband, Chris, Springfield, Missouri; son, Cody Bissell, Fairfax; father, Richard Bissell, Blue Springs, Missouri; mother, Viola (Kephart) Davis, Rock Port, Missouri; brother, Will Bissell, Omaha, Nebraska; and sister, Nancy Harrington, Nashville, Tennessee.

016Dorothy Kish Bredthauer the daughter of Frederick Cecil (F.C.) and Mabel Seiver (Scarlett) McCoy was born September 12, 1925 in Rock Port, Missouri. Dorothy attended Mount Pleasant Country School southeast of Rock Port, completing the eighth grade.
On November 14, 1947 Dorothy was united in marriage to Lawrence Kish and they made their home on the Kish Family farm south of Rock Port. Lawrence preceded her in death in 1985. On August 13, 1991 Dorothy was united in marriage to Bernard Bredthauer and they made their home in his hometown of Ord, Nebraska. He preceded her in death. Dorothy passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Nodaway Nursing Home in Maryville, Missouri at the age of 86.
Dorothy helped her husband on the farm and was a loving wife. She was an unbelievable cook, and wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She loved animals of all kinds, except snakes. She also loved to go fishing and enjoyed eating catfish. She was a member of the Rock Port United Methodist Church.
Besides her parents and husbands, Dorothy was preceded in death by three brothers; Willis and his wife, Mevelyn McCoy, Lee Edward and his wife, Marjorie McCoy, and Jack McCoy. Survivors include; daughter, Kelly Leedom and her husband, Kevin, Maryville; son, John Kish, Columbia, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Megan, Austin, Dakota and Robby, Christina, Derek, and their mother, Raylene; twelve great grandchildren, sister-in-law, Shirley McCoy, Rock Port, and numerous nieces and nephews.

017Mary Margaret (Underwood) Campbell, the daughter of William Martin and Mary Letha (Bowden) Underwood, was born June 27, 1925, near Rock Port, Missouri. Margaret attended Irish Grove Country School and graduated from Rock Port High School in 1943.
On October 8, 1943, Margaret was united in marriage to Dean Archibald Campbell. During World War II, Dean served his country and the couple made their home in Amarillo, Texas, and Dothan, Alabama. While in Dothan, their only child, a daughter, Katherine, was born. Margaret returned to Rock Port when her husband served overseas. She worked at Clayton Allen Law Office.
After the war, they made their home on the Campbell Family farm in Langdon, Missouri. During the years on the farm, Margaret also became the postmaster of the Langdon Post Office and Dean and Margaret became the owners of the Langdon Grocery. In the 1960’s, the couple started renovations on the Campbell family home. They partially retired from farming and did a lot of international travel. Margaret was a dedicated wife and mother. Dean passed away in 1981.
Margaret continued management of the farms and later moved to Omaha, Nebraska, where she was active in the Scottish Society and competition ballroom dancing. Margaret passed away Tuesday, March 6, 2012, at her home in Omaha at the age of 86.
Margaret is preceded in death by her parents and husband. Survivors include one daughter, Katherine Caradori and her husband, Dick; grandson, Kevin Caradori and his wife, Amanda; two great-grandchildren, Kylie and Connor Caradori; brother, Raymond Underwood and his wife, Beth; nephew, Shawn Underwood and his wife, Jennifer; two nieces, Shannon Evans and her husband, Greg and Mianne Underwood Irick.

018Don E. Carroll, Sr., the son of Louis and Mary (Heckel) Carroll, was born January 20, 1923, in Iowa City, Iowa. He attended high school in Hamburg, Iowa, graduating in 1941.
On August 14, 1941, Don entered the United States Navy and served his country as a Naval Aviator on the U.S.S. Boston and U.S.S. New Jersey.
On July 4, 1943, Don was united in marriage to Helen Lucille Sliger at the First Christian Church in Rock Port. They became the parents of two sons, Donald, Jr. and Richard.
Don and Helen made their home in Los Angeles, California and were both employed by American Airlines for more than 20 years. They were blessed to have “traveled the world,” spending time in numerous countries such as; England, France, Germany, Bavaria, Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Spain, China, Hong Kong and many others. Don and Helen later lived in Arizona, where at the age of 65, enjoyed riding motorcycles in the desert. They owned a travel trailer and pulled it throughout the United States and enjoyed fishing in the Northwestern parts of the country. It was an adjustment getting used to staying home following their move back to Rock Port. They kept busy by taking cruises around town, playing bingo every week and never missing their granddaughters sporting events. Helen passed away August 2, 2007. Don kept busy by being a super Great-Grandpa, he even passed on the game of crazy eights to his great-granddaughter Alyssa. Don was thankful to have close friends like Colin Pritt to keep him company and reminisce over old war stories, and his little rascal poodle named “Cappy” (Captain) by his side. Don passed away August 19, 2012, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri, at the age of 89. Don was a great hero, family man, and role model. We will all miss our courageous World War II Corsair pilot!
Don was a member of the First Christian Church, North Star Masonic Lodge #157 A.F. & A.M., and Ralph Greer American Legion Post #49, all of Rock Port.
Besides his parents and wife, Helen, Don was preceded in death by son, Donald Carroll, Jr. Survivors include son, Richard Carroll, Rock Port; two granddaughters, Teresa Carroll and partner Christopher Grawe, Kansas City, Missouri and Donna Pritt and husband, Derrick, St. Joseph, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Alyssa Dawn and Aiden Pritt, St. Joseph; daughter-in-law, Alicia Carroll, St. Joseph; sister, Janie Lorimer, Tulsa, Oklahoma and numerous nieces and nephews.

019Arthur Francis (Sonny) Cook, Sr., the son of Charles Andrew and Mildred Irene (Allbee) Cook, was born October 11, 1941, in Rock Port, Missouri. Sonny attended Red Star Country School and Rock Port Schools to the 8th grade.
On October 1, 1960, Sonny was united in marriage to Betty Jane Bailey, in Fairfax, Missouri. They made their home in Atchison County, their entire married life. Sonny was a very hard worker, starting work at 12 years old. He was employed by area farmers as a farm hand, for True Ag, Ag Choice and Continental Grain, retiring from Bunge Grain, Brownville, Nebraska. Sonny passed away June 11, 2012, at the University of Nebraska Medical Center, Omaha, Nebraska, at the age of 70.
Sonny was a wonderful Dad and Grandpa who truly enjoyed his grandkids. He loved to hunt and fish and hold large fish fry’s with family and friends at their home. Sonny also enjoyed playing pitch and “aggravating” his family and closest friends.
Besides his parents, Sonny was preceded in death by son-in-law, Johnny Amthor; sister, Esther Ferdig; and two brothers-in-law. Survivors include wife, Betty, of the home; two daughters, Mary Cook and Teresa Amthor; son, Sonny Cook, Jr. and wife, Cheryl; three grandchildren, Clayton Amthor and wife, Jackie, Cory Amthor and Amber Cook; one great-grandson, Brayden Amthor, all of Rock Port; numerous brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and more friends than you can count.

020Joseph Harbin Craven, the son of Jay Richard and Sylvia Irene (Collins) Craven, was born March 26, 1935 in Tarkio, Missouri. After the death of his parents, Joe and his sister Lois were raised by their grandparents, Joe and Hannah Collins. Joe attended the Pleasant Mound (Pepper Box) Country School, east of Tarkio, and graduated from Tarkio High School in 1953. He attended Tarkio College.
Joe entered the United States Army and served his country overseas as a Security Agent in a Special Operations Unit from 1957 to 1960.
In 1957, Joe was united in marriage to Carolyn K. McIntosh and they became the parents of four children; Teddi, Jo Lynn, Laurie and Jay. They were later divorced. In February of 1991, Joe met his “soul mate”, Connie Quimby, and they were together to the present time. Joe passed away Friday, August 24, 2012, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, Missouri, at the age of 77.
Joe was a farmer and a carpenter. He was a member of the United Methodist Church, Tarkio, and a former trustee board member. He was also very active with the Tarkio Rodeo Board. One of his greatest pleasures and past times was watching his grandchildren grow. He had a very special place in his heart for all animals and would always go above and beyond to make sure they were well taken care of.

021Lester Ernest (Ernie) Ellison, the son of George and Elsie (Turner) Ellison was born March 16, 1935 in Watson, Missouri. He attended the Watson schools graduating from Watson High School in 1952. Following graduation, Ernie was employed building government grain bin sites. He also was employed by Frank Heyen at The Toggery Clothing Store in Rock Port.
On August 12, 1954, Ernie was united in marriage to Shirley Townsend at the Rock Port United Methodist Church. They made their home in California for a year, then returned to Kansas City where Ernie was a delivery driver.
On February 3, 1958, Ernie entered the United States Army and proudly served his country for two years. Following his honorable discharge, they returned to Watson where he farmed with his father and began establishing his own farming operation. Currently, Ernie co-managed this family business with his son, Jody.
Ernie was a lifetime member of the Watson United Methodist Church and a former member of the Watson Rural Fire Department. In his younger years, Ernie loved to play basketball and softball at Watson and he enjoyed a good game of cards. Ernie's quick sense of humor and helping hand was well known to everyone. He had one hobby and that was to watch his sons, grandchildren and great grandchildren play sports. Family and farming were his pride and joy.
Besides his parents, Ernie was preceded in death by a son, Clay; sisters, Laura Harmon and Beverly Robinson; brother, Bill Ellison and an infant brother and sister. Survivors include his wife, Shirley; sons, Steve Ellison and wife, Carmen and Jody Ellison and wife, Toni, all of Rock Port; four grandchildren, Nikki, Cassidy, Elyssa and Drew; five great grandsons; sister, Iva Case and husband, Robert, Hamburg, Iowa, and numerous friends and family.

022Jerry D. “J.D.” Evans, the son of Eugene and Edna (Vogler) Evans, was born June 20, 1931, in Fairfax, Missouri. J.D. attended school in Rural Fairfax and Fairfax High School.
In 1950, J.D. was united in marriage to Evelyn D. Taylor in Fairfax, Missouri. To this union, four children were born, Kim, Stephen, Reed and Rocky. They later divorced. In 1980, J.D. was united in marriage to Kay Volker. They later divorced. J.D. spent twenty years with his special friend, Betty Zebell.
J.D. was employed by Sly and Carter as a truck driver for many years. For seventeen years, he was employed by M.B.P., before moving to Wichita, Kansas, where he worked for M.B.P. Excel. In 1993, he moved back to Tarkio and continued working as a truck driver. J.D. passed away March 14, 2012, at Community Hospital-Fairfax, Fairfax, at the age of 80.
J.D. attended the Presbyterian Church and enjoyed camping at the river and visiting with friends.
Besides his parents, J.D. is preceded in death by one brother, Albert Evans and his special friend, Betty Zebell. Survivors include four sons, Kim Evans, Watson, Missouri, Stephen Evans and wife, Rhonda, Tarkio, Reed Evans, Watson and Rocky Evans and wife, Jamie, Rock Port, Missouri; three grandsons, Mark Evans, Watson, Dane Evans, Tarkio and Bryan Evans, Rock Port; one granddaughter, Jodie Evans, Rock Port and sister-in-law, Martha Evans, Peoria, Illinois.

023C. James “Fenny” Fentiman, the son of Dwane and Helen (Long) Fentiman was born January 7, 1950 in Hamburg, Iowa. Affectionately known as Fenny, he was a Rock Port, Missouri boy his entire life. He attended Rock Port Schools graduating in 1968.
On May 24, 2008, Fenny was united in marriage to Julie Knapp at the Rock Port City Park. Julie survives of the home in Rock Port. Fenny passed away Friday, February 10, 2012 at his home in Rock Port at the age of 62 after a short and courageous battle against cancer.
Fenny worked at the Blue Jay Bowl, the family business in Rock Port from his youth. Up until its recent sale they called him regularly to work on the equipment. He helped area farmers during the busy season and was an equipment operator for Mo Valley Ag, before driving a truck over the road for 10 years on a regular Canadian run. Most recently he worked as a custom chemical applicator for MFA Ag Choice in Rock Port and planned on retiring this March.
Fenny grew up playing and excelling at football, baseball, bowling and golf, which was his passion. He bowled several perfect games and won numerous local and national tournaments. He was a former member of the Rock Port Country Club.
Fenny was preceded in death by his father Dwane, grandparents, Clifford and Fern Fentiman, and Guy and Georgia Long, and god daughter, Samantha Lansdown. Survivors include his wife Julie, Rock Port; step-sons Michael Dunn, Clallam Bay, Washington, and Joseph Dunn, Rock Port; foster daughter, Tina Rebel; mother, Helen Fentiman; brother, Richard Fentiman and his wife Suzanne, all of Rock Port; nephew, Barry Fentiman and his fiancé, Sarah Brumfield and great niece Madison Fentiman all of Olathe, Kansas; and a host of friends too numerous to count.

024William C. “Bill” Fischer, the son of Charles F. and Lucy I. (Andermann) Fischer, was born in Rock Port, Missouri, on March 7, 1932. He passed away Friday, June 22, 2012, at his home in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 80.
William and his two brothers, Charles (older) and John (younger), were raised by Uncle Elmer Andermann and Aunts Mabel Andermann and Minnie (Andermann) Baldwin in Rock Port, Missouri. Bill attended Rock Port Schools, graduating from Rock Port High School in 1950. Following high school, Bill attended Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville, Missouri, on a football scholarship. In 1951, Bill entered the United States Marine Corps, to serve his country during the Korean War. In 1959, Bill returned to Rock Port and enrolled in Tarkio College to complete his education, graduating in 1962.
On April 22, 1960, Bill married Shirley L. Freeman in Platte City, Missouri. They remained in Tarkio while Bill finished college. Upon his graduation, Bill entered federal civil service with the Department of Labor, which transferred him to Kansas City and later to Springfield, Missouri. Bill transferred to the Department of Justice and became a Special Agent for the FBI. His assignments required relocating his family numerous times to Montana, Ohio, Nebraska, Iowa, and once again to Missouri. Bill retired from the FBI in 1986 and he and Shirley returned to Tarkio, where they lived until 1991, when they decided to move to San Antonio, Texas, to spend time with their grandchildren and began selling real estate.
Bill remained in San Antonio after Shirley’s death in 2005, and worked as a volunteer at the Methodist Hospital, where he made many new friends. He also enjoyed horseback riding with his sons and spending time with his grandchildren.
Survivors include sons and daughters-in-law, Donald N. and Robin Hathorne, Ronald D. and Marian Hathorne, San Antonio, Texas, Steven C. and Susie Fischer, Perkasie, Pennsylvania; grandchildren, Timothy and Katherine Fischer, Danny, Donnie, Derek, Dustin and Mason Hathorne, Krystel, Ryan, Danielle and Arianna Chamberlain; great-grandchildren, Jessica, Devin, Nathan, and Silas Hathorne; brother, John and wife Betty Fischer, Kansas City, Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews.
William was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Shirley (Freeman) Fischer; and older brother, Charles Fischer.

025Mary Kay Fuelling, the daughter of Merle W. and Lillian L. (Bengtson) Fuelling, was born August 18, 1939, in Albion, Nebraska. She attended Golden View Country School, west of Rock Port, before graduating from Rock Port High School in 1957. Mary Kay entered registered nurse training at Trinity Lutheran Hospital, Kansas City, Missouri, graduating in 1960.
Mary Kay was employed by Community Hospital, Fairfax, Missouri, and Grape Community Hospital, Hamburg, Iowa, retiring in November 2000. Mary Kay built a home in the Red Star Community, north of Rock Port, where she lived from 1969-2001, until moving into Rock Port, in 2001. She had a great love for animals, raising and caring for horses, calves, puppies and birds. She was a member of the First Lutheran Church, Rock Port. Mary Kay passed away July 15, 2012, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, Saint Joseph, Missouri, at the age of 72.
Besides her parents, Mary Kay was preceded in death by brother, James M. Fuelling and sister-in-law, Phyllis Fuelling. Survivors include brothers, Merle W. Fuelling, Jr., Granger, Indiana, Paul M. 026Iva Louise Hall, the daughter of Flaivan Marcellus and Hazel E. (Clark) Hall, was born March 16, 1932, in rural Fairfax, Missouri. Iva attended school at Mt. Hope Country School in rural Craig, Missouri, and Houston Country School in rural Fairfax, Missouri, before graduating from Fairfax High School.
For seven years, Iva was employed by Tarkio Academy as a receptionist, before being employed by Atchison County Services, where she aided people with their utility bills, thru the Energy Assistance Program. Iva was a member of the Tarkio United Methodist Church and the Tarkio United Methodist Women. She was a member of the Skidmore Chapter, #402, Skidmore, Missouri, and dual member of the Fairfax Chapter, #373, Fairfax, Missouri, Order of the Eastern Star and had served as District Deputy Grand Matron and was a member of the District Deputy Club. Iva was also a member of the Atchison County Democratic Women. Iva passed away March 14, 2012, at Carriage Square Care Center, Saint Joseph, Missouri at the age of 79.
Besides her parents, Iva was preceded in death by sister, Mary Alice (Hall) Stevens and nephew, Maurice Wayne Stevens. Survivors include great nephew, Matthew Wayne Stevens and numerous cousins and friends.

027Margery Ann Hamilton, the daughter of Harold and Lula (Gebhards) Walters, was born December 4, 1934, in Rock Port, Missouri. She attended Rock Port High School, graduating in 1952. In 1953, Margery was united in marriage to Maxen D. Gregg, of Tarkio. After Max’s discharge from the U.S. Air Force, they made their home in Tarkio, where Max taught math and science at Tarkio High school. Max passed away in January of 1978. To this union, one daughter, Joni, was born in 1960.
Marge was employed as a secretary for Tarkio Elementary School for several years and she worked for many years as a teller at banks in Rock Port, Tarkio, and Westboro. In 1985, Marge was united in marriage to Roger D. Hamilton of New Lennox, Illinois, and for a short time they made their home in San Antonio, Texas. After Roger’s retirement from the trucking industry, they returned to Tarkio, where Roger passed away in December of 1992. Marge continued to reside in Tarkio following Roger’s death, but for the past several months, she had been residing in the Palm Springs, California, area, near her daughter. Marge passed away on May 16, 2012, at Odyssey House Hospice in Palm Desert, California, at the age of 77.
Marge enjoyed social activities, bowling, playing bridge and golf. She had been an active member in the ladies golf association at Tarkio. Survivors include her daughter, Joni Mott and husband, Robert; stepsons, Russell Hamilton and Robert Hamilton and wife, Gail; step-grandchildren, Keri, Rebecca and Rachel; and step great-grandchild, RJ; aunt, Betty Gebhards; sister-in-laws, Kay Gregg and Sharon Smith; several nieces and nephews; numerous cousins and many friends.

028Anna Laura (Hazelton) Harmon, 88, of Topeka, Kansas died at 11:15 a.m. Thursday, March 15, 2012 at home. She was born on July 12, 1923 in Miller, Missouri to John S. and Emma E. Hazelton. She was known to many friends as Annie. She was raised and educated in Marshfield, Missouri and graduated second in her High School class in 1941. She then entered Missouri Methodist Hospital School of Nursing in St. Joseph, Mo. Anna graduated first in her nursing class in 1944. She married John Lee Harmon on April 20, 1946.
Besides her parents, Anna was preceded in death by husband, John L. Harmon; grandson, John Christian Harmon; daughter-in-law, Deanna Harmon; sister, Ruth Hazelton; and brother, John Hazelton, Jr. She is survived by her sister, Charlotte Lance of Glendora, California; three sons, John Grover (wife, Deanna preceded in death) of Layton, Utah; William Robert and wife, Renee of South Gate, California; and Jesse Stephen and wife, Robin of Landers, California; one daughter, Laura Lee Thomason and husband, David of Topeka, Kansas; and several nieces, nephews, grandchildren (nine) and great grandchildren (eight).
After high school Anna entered Missouri Methodist Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1944 as an R. N. She served her country during WW II in the American Nurses Corp in the US, Japan and the Philippines. She was a Charter member of the Women in Military Service memorial in Washington, DC. During her lifetime, Anna used her nursing skills and worked at different times in California and then Missouri as a rural visiting nurse.
Anna and John were married after the War, and made their home in Huntington Park, California for 30 years. Upon retirement, they returned to Missouri: Grovespring, MO (1975-1988) and then Rock Port, MO (1988-1995). After John’s death in 1995, Anna moved to Topeka, Kansas to be near her daughter and her family. Anna enjoyed many hobbies: playing pinochle and pitch, quilting, knitting for local charities and visiting with her many friends. For years, Anna and John enjoyed fishing, especially their fishing trips with Gus and Wanda (John’s sister) Minter. Anna was a member of the Community Congregational Church of Huntington Park, California and the Christian Church of Hartville, Missouri. She was also a member of the Topeka Newcomers club.

029Dale A. Hull, the son of Clarence Rudolph and Mabelle Naomi (Seaburg) Hull was born September 6, 1918, in Villisca, Iowa. Dale attended rural schools in Carthage, South Dakota and attended High School in Argon, South Dakota, before graduating from Daleview High School in rural Fairfax, Missouri in 1936. Dale then studied math at Tarkio College, Tarkio, Missouri, for 2 ½ years before enlisting in the United States Army on January 31, 1942 after the Pearl Harbor bombing. Dale served as a Quarter Master attached to the Army Air Corp, before being drafted into the United States Army Infantry. Following basic training, Dale was sent overseas with the 2nd Armored Division, until his honorable discharge on February 5, 1946.
On July 21, 1943, Dale was united in marriage to Evelyn Marie Campbell in Tarkio. To this union, two children, Robert Dale and Janet E. were born. Following his return, he was employed by Henry Field Nursery, Shenandoah, Iowa. Later George Knepper hired Dale as the parts man for Atchison County Implement in Tarkio. In 1951, Dale was approached by Jim Shaum to farm the Peckville Ranch, southeast of Westboro. Dale farmed for 33 years, harvesting the last crop in 1983. Dale and Evelyn then moved to Maryville where he lived to the present time. Evelyn passed away in 2007. Dale passed away June 11, 2012, at his home in Maryville, at the age of 93.
Dale was a former member of the Westboro R-IV School Board, Westboro United Methodist Church, University of Missouri Extension Board and the Atchison County Nursing Home Board. He was also a former member of the Allen-Schiffern American Legion Post #199 of Tarkio and was a past commander of the Merrill-Smith American Legion Post #32 in Westboro. Dale was a lifetime member of the Worth County Memorial Post #3123, Grant City, Missouri.
Besides his parents and wife, Dale was preceded in death by granddaughter, Cara Cathleen Hull and brother-in-law Norman Kemper. Survivors include son, Robert Dale Hull and wife, Sue Ellen, Grant City; daughter, Janet E. Hull , Maryville; two grandsons, Patrick C. Hull, and wife, Rachael, Fountain, Colorado and Jonathan Hull, Grant City; brother, Phillip Hull and wife, Meta, Westboro; sister, Phillis Kemper, Shenandoah; and numerous nieces and nephews.

030Richard Stanley “Stan” Irvine, son of Samuel and Lucille (Woodhouse) Irvine, was born April 26, 1919, in Tarkio, Missouri. Stan attended Tarkio High School, graduating in 1937 and Tarkio College in 1941. On May 9, 1942, Stan entered into the United States Army Air Corp, serving his country during World War II as First Lieutenant. Stan instructed students in flight, navigation, and instruments in a B-24. He also served as a flight commander of 75 men and received training to become a B-29 flight instructor.
On October 23, 1943, Stan was united in marriage to Ruth E. Sieben in Liberal, Kansas. Following Stan’s honorable discharge, they returned to Tarkio and made their home on the Irvine Family Farm, east of Tarkio. Stan farmed until becoming the Manager of Tarkio Pelleting Corporation, retiring in 1986. After retirement, Stan and Ruth moved to Sun City West, Arizona until 2006. Since 2006, they made their home at Living Community of Saint Joseph, Missouri. Ruth passed away August 26, 2011. Stan passed away on March 2, 2012, at Tiffany Heights Nursing Home, Mound City, Missouri at the age of 92.
Stan was a long standing former member of the Tarkio United Methodist Church, and the Shepherd of the Hills United Methodist Church, Sun City West. While in Tarkio, Stan was a member of the Tarkio Rotary Club and served as a Board member of the Midwest Feed Manufacturers. Stan enjoyed dancing, golfing, playing bridge and spending time with his family.
Besides his parents and wife, Stan was preceded in death by brother, Maurice Irvine and sister, Virginia Irvine. Survivors include two daughters, Susan Richard and husband, Gary, Folsom, California and Patty Davis and husband, Sheldon, Fairfax, Missouri; two grandchildren, Derek Davis and wife, Dawn and Courtney Graves and husband, Jarod, all of Fairfax; two great-grandchildren, Amber Lewis, Columbia, Missouri, and Baylee Lewis, Fairfax; sister-in-law, Margaret Irvine, Tarkio; nephews, Steve Irvine and wife, Eileen, and Larry Irvine and special friend, Jeannine Broermann, all of Tarkio.

031Charles Nathan King, the son of Roy and Viva (Steele) King, was born October 8, 1931, on a farm southeast of Rock Port, Missouri. He attended Mt. Pleasant Country School.
On April 15, 1960, Charlie was united in marriage to Floy Phillips. To this union a son, Todd Nathan, was born October 28, 1967. They were later divorced.
Charlie farmed his family farm, southeast of Rock Port until 1976. He was employed by Northwest Missouri Industries for over 20 years. Charles passed away Thursday, September 6, 2012, at Heartland Regional Medical Center, St. Joseph, Missouri, at the age of 80.
Besides his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his companion friend of 20 years, Janet Allen. Survivors include son, Todd King and his wife, LeeAnn and three grandchildren, Jacob, Dylan and Ashleigh, all of Rock Port.

032Doris Joyce (Clement) Lefforge, the daughter of Charles M. and Doris Alberta (Johnston) Clement, was born June 21, 1936 in Westboro, Missouri. Joyce attended school in Council Bluffs, Iowa and Braddyville, Iowa before graduating from Westboro High School in 1955.
Joyce began her professional career employed by Ozark Airlines in Rockford, Illinois. She later worked as a Secretary for the Newark, Illinois school system, in Administration for the Insurance industry in Ottawa, Illinois, and for the Conoco Oil Company, Ponca City, Oklahoma until retiring in 2002. Joyce soon returned to Westboro, living there until January 2009 when ill health forced her move to Pleasant View Nursing Home, Rock Port, Missouri. Joyce passed away on February 23, 2012, at the Pleasant View Nursing Home at the age of 75.
Besides her parents, Joyce was preceded in death by a twin brother, Joe Clement and brother-in-law, Robert Fox. Survivors include two sisters, Patricia (Clement) Fox, St. Joseph, Missouri and Nancy L. (Clement) Martin and husband, Donald, Westboro; two nephews, Richard Fox and wife, Shelly, St. Joseph and Chuck Fox and wife, Penni, Maryville, Missouri; niece, Debra Jo (Martin) Smith and husband, Bob, Fort Worth, Texas and sister-in-law, Carol Clement, North Bend, Nebraska.

033Mary M. Lindsay, the daughter of June and Elizabeth (Hampson) Hays, was born September 10, 1924, in Watson, Missouri. Mary attended Watson High School, graduating in 1942. She also attended Chillicothe Business College, graduating in 1944.
On June 29, 1946, Mary was united in marriage to James Robert Lindsay in Troy, Kansas. To this union, one son, Bill, was born. They made their home in the Tarkio area.
Mary was employed by Claude Templeton, at the former First National Bank, for over forty years, before retiring in March 1986. After retiring, Mary and Bob moved to Camdenton, Missouri, where they lived to the present time. Mary was a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Chapter FF. Mary passed away April 6, 2012, at her home in Camdenton, at the age of 87.
Besides her parents, Mary was preceded in death by a son, Bill Lindsay; three brothers and two sisters. Survivors include husband, Bob Lindsay, of the home, Camdenton; two grandsons, Jimmy Lindsay and wife, Emily and Danny Lindsay and wife, Tasha, all of Saint Joseph, Missouri; great grandchildren, Andon, Anna, Levi, Noah, Hailey and Jaylin Lindsay, all of Saint Joseph; brother-in-law, Ray Barker, Camdenton; niece, Heidi Ortiz and her children, Krystal, Ashley, Elicia and D.J. Ortiz, Camdenton; and nephew, Billy Dean Lindsay, Tarkio.

034Jaclyn Sue Long, the daughter of Kenneth Junior and Mary Francis (Jackson) Long, was born November 5, 1961 in Fairfax, Missouri. She attended the Rock Port schools.
During her lifetime, Jackie was employed as a CNA in nursing homes in the various towns where she lived. She was truly a “Jackie of all trades”. Jackie has had to face many hardships in her life, but she has battled on against all adversity, always continuing to display great courage and a truly fierce independent nature. Jackie was often heard to say, "As long as I have my babies, all will be ok." She was a great mom and a wonderful Nana to her 11 grandchildren. Jackie passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2012, at Jennie Edmundson Memorial Hospital in Council Bluffs, Iowa, at the age of 50.
She was preceded in death by her mother; Mary Francis Long, sister, Kelly Long, grandmother, Edith Jackson and stepmother, Betty Long.
Survivors include her four children, Cara Davis and her husband, Johnny, Rock Port, Matthew Carder, Nebraska City, Nebraska, Troy Hale and his wife, Mary, Rock Port, and Okema Hale and Damien Pritt, of Rock Port; grandchildren, Wyatt, Jeffrey, Alyssa, Naoma, Kelsie, Johnny, Raina, Aden, Jaxson, Harlee and Stevie; father, Kenneth Junior Long, Rock Port; brother, Jeff Long and his wife, Linda, Chandler, Oklahoma; nephews, Josh and Jason Long, niece, Julie Long; and numerous aunts and uncles.
